STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA
GOVERNOR'S BUDGET
FISCAL YEAR 2020
BEGINNING JULY 1, 2019
ENDING JUNE 30, 2020
OUR 130th YEAR OF A BALANCED BUDGET

SD Budget Book Governor Daugaard's Budget Report
for Fiscal Year 2020

Governor Daugaard's FY2020 budget recommendations will fund necessary state government services and special appropriations for the fiscal period beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2020. In South Dakota, we remain committed to fiscal responsibility and conservative management principles. We don’t spend money that we don’t have. We use one-time money for one-time expenses, and ongoing money for ongoing expenses. When possible, we avoid the creation of unfunded liabilities and in recent years have made major strides to reduce our liabilities. We work hard to ensure your tax dollars are used wisely to fund a fiscally strong state government. You can read a summary of the Governor's key recommendations in his letter to the Members of the 94th Legislature and view the details in the links below.
